Scenario

On a Saturday afternoon, we received an urgent call from a brewery facing a critical motor failure that threatened their production. Within an hour of receiving the call, we had an engineer on the road heading to the customer’s site to collect the motor and bring it in for repair.

Following reassembly, the motor underwent final testing to verify the repair, and it was then delivered back to the customer’s site by Sunday afternoon, less than 24 hours after first receiving the call.

TROUBLESHOOTING & REPAIRS

Initial tests quickly identified a shorted coil as the issue, necessitating a full rewind of the motor alongside a general overhaul and service which included:

• Thorough inspection and cleaning of all components;
• dismantling, stripping and varnishing the windings;
• fitting new SKF bearings,;
• baker testing and varnishing windings;

RESOLUTION
